I have just finished updating a couple of my websites - http://dmq.geeky.cc/ and http://fiercebot.geeky.cc/. They are the homes of the DMQ and FierceBot projects.
DMQ stands for Death Match Quaked - It is a mod for Valve's Deathmatch Classic to make it more like Quake World. A bloke called TrendKiller started it, Pix got it working and I now do maintenance and new features. It seems that the game has pretty much died now, but I wanted to get the site done. The main thing is the "Requests" feature - a very simple way for people to ask, and vote, for features. I get an e-mail whenever something happens so it should help me to prioritise my to-do list.
The FierceBot is an artificial player for first person shooter games. I have recently started work on a new version that will work on just about any game (by using an intermediate .dll that acts as a translator). The FierceBot project really gets me going :D It's great to have a project to work on that is so dependent on performance - it goes way beyond "how many users will the website support" - more like how can I navigate across 10000 polygons in less than 1 millisecond! Well I have just about got a polygon reduction algorithm working so I will explain that in a future post.
